Panaji: The Supreme Court on Monday issued a notice and stayed the effect and operation of the high court’s judgment dated Feb 12, this year in the recruitment of junior scale officers of the Goa Civil Service of 2011.
The advocate general’s statement recorded in the high court order stated that appointment letters would be issued to the petitioners within two weeks. OBC category candidate Sanjay Naik went to the SC stating that he secured the highest written marks but was displaced due to an irregular process.
His advocate, Dhaval Zaveri, with advocate on record Salvador Rebello, submitted to the apex court that the high court acted in contravention of the earlier Supreme Court order, which mandated that it consider ACB findings.
