NEW DELHI: The Mumbai Traffic Police have issued a detailed traffic advisory in view of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 fixture between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings scheduled for Sunday, April 20, at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
The match will begin at 7.30pm, and a significant influx of spectators and vehicles is expected in the area. To ensure smooth traffic flow and public convenience, temporary traffic arrangements and parking restrictions will be implemented from 12pm to 11.55pm on match day under Temporary Notification No. 553/DCP/SOUTH/TEMP/T/2025, dated 28/03/2025.
As per the directive from Pradnya Jedge, deputy commissioner of police (South), Traffic, Brihanmumbai Police , the following measures will be enforced:
Traffic restrictions
To avoid congestion and inconvenience to the public, motorists are advised to avoid the Wankhede Stadium area during the specified hours. As there are no parking facilities available at the stadium, all spectators are strongly encouraged to use public transportation , especially local trains .
Veer Nariman Road (from Churchgate Junction to Sundarmahal Junction) will be closed to traffic as required.
Alternative routes:
Commuters are advised to use the following alternate routes: From Churchgate Junction, take Maharshi Karve Road to Pandit Paluskar Chowk (Opera House), turn left towards Vinoli Chowpatty, and proceed to your destination.
Alternatively, travel from Ramdev Potdar Junction (C.T.O) via Chafekar Bandhu Chowk (O.C.S) to M.G. Road, through Shyamaldas Junction, over Meghdut Bridge (Princess Street) to your desired location.
Parking restrictions
Parking will not be permitted in the following areas:

- Veer Nariman Road (both directions) – From Churchgate Junction to Sundarmahal Junction
Instructions for Spectators Arriving from Railway Stations
From Churchgate railway station:
- Spectators holding tickets for Gate Numbers 01, 02, and 07 of Wankhede Stadium should alight at Churchgate Station and proceed by walking towards 'D' Road.
- Spectators arriving at Churchgate Station Platform No. 04 and using Maharshi Karve (MK) Road should take the foot overbridge located in front of Pratishta Bhavan to reach Gate No. 05.
- Spectators using the foot overbridge connected to 'E' Road at Anandilal Potdar Junction (on MK Road) should proceed to Gate Nos. 04 and 05 via the Mumbai Vidyapith Stadium Gate, entering through Patan Jain Mandal Road.
From Marine Lines railway station:
- Spectators holding tickets for Gate Numbers 04 and 05A of Wankhede Stadium should alight at Marine Lines Station and walk towards 'F' Road.
- Spectators alighting at Marine Lines Station platform and holding tickets for Gate Nos. 04 and 05 should proceed via the Mumbai Vidyapith Stadium Gate, entering through Patan Jain Mandal Road.
Instructions for entry to Wankhede Stadium:
- Those with tickets for Gate Number 03 should get off at Churchgate Station and walk along the N.S. Road pavement.
- All visitors coming via N.S. Road (Marine Drive) must use the pavement for walking and stay off the main carriageway.
- Visitors travelling by car must disembark only at the marked drop-off points along N.S. Road.
- To manage traffic flow, N.S. Road will not permit U-turns from 2 hours before until 2 hours after the match concludes.
- During this restriction, motorists may make U-turns at Murali Deora Chowk and Mafatlal Junction on N.S. Road.
