A travel vlogger has revealed an underrated European city that is beautiful, boasts cheap prices, and has an authentic feel. Posting on TikTok, Rob Adock starts by claiming that the destination could be "the most gorgeous city in Europe that you've never even Googled".
The city in question is Jerez de la Frontera, often called Jerez, which is located in southern Spain's Andalusia region. The stunning city is full of charm, beauty, tranquility and is a must-visit for those that enjoy a short getaway. Rob said: "I can't think of anywhere like it [Jerez]. It couldn't be less touristy. I don't remember seeing one single massive international chain, just cobbled streets, orange trees, and old plazas."
Jerez is such a hidden gem that welcomes a shockingly small number of tourists compared to other Spainish destinations. The city sees just 115,782 international visitors and 199,941 Spanish tourists a year.
The travel vlogger "walked everywhere" when visiting and also highlighted that the city "feels proper safe", and has cheap drinks and eateries.
Despite Jerez being a quiet destination, the city is absolutely transformed during the night, where it comes alive with people dancing and dining.
In fact, those who like a nice drink would absolutely love a trip to Jerez, as the city is renowned for being the home of sherry. The city is home to plenty of wineries perfect for a wine tasting tour.
Bodegas Fundador, founded in 1730, is both the oldest and one of the best wineries in the area. The winery boasting 4.3 stars out of five and a TripAdvisor Travellers' Choice award has a large collection of sherry cask that is "unique in the development of the first brand of Brandy in Spain, Fundador".
One visitor on Tripadvisor said: "A fantastic journey into the world of sherry with a great tour of this historic Bodegas and an enjoyable tasting experience!
"A great value for money tour, from a charming, enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide who brought everything to life. The history and the scale of the Bodegas is very impressive.
"The tasting was a very sociable and informative event that allowed us to understand further the world of sherry. I would highly recommend."
Rob added: "If this was in Italy, it would be packed. If it was in France, it would be overpriced. This is proper Spain."
People in the comments were stunned by the location with some tagging their friends, and commenting on its beauty.
One person said: "Next on my list. My parents go next month and I'm so jealous!"
A second wrote: "I've been so many times and each time it's still breathtaking."
A third commented: "well you've sold it to me!"
