Music legend Rod Stewart has been reflecting on his appearance at the Glastonbury Festival on June 29 this year. The 80-year-old superstar welcomed several guests to the stage during his set, and he took to Instagram to pay tribute to one of them. Posting a clip of Simply Red frontman Mick Hucknall on stage with him during the festival, he admitted it was a memorable moment. "Great to see my mate Mick Hucknall and have him join me on stage at Glastonbury, a proper moment to remember," Rod touchingly penned for his 1.5 million followers.
His fans were quick to react to the post, expressing how much they had enjoyed the performance. "Ah.. two music legends. Absolutely fantastic," one wrote. "Rod and Red, a perfect combination," another added. A third chimed in:" What a fantastic show, two legends of music, Rod and Mick." They accompanied their comment with a love heart emoji.
A fourth wrote, "Thanks for sharing this! We just saw you in Charlotte! Great show!" A fifth commented, "Love, love, love Rod Stewart and Simply Red!!!" Meanwhile, a sixth shared, "A meeting of two wonderful voices that complement each other perfectly."
Rod's appearance at the festival for the first time in 23 years came after he had spent the previous weeks struggling with his health.
He reportedly required medical intervention in order to take to the stage following a battle with flu, which had forced him to cancel shows in the build up to the gig. Rod had confessed doctors had ordered him to rest writing on Instagram: "My doctor ordered a bit more rest while I recover from the flu. Thanks for your love and understanding."
It was subsequently reported that the chart-topping singer's voice only returned a mere two days before the festival after his wife, Penny Lancaster, 54, took him to a London throat specialist in advance of his appearance.

According to Radar Online, the medics inserted a camera down his throat to examine his vocal cords, and he had to undergo voice coaching, hot and cold steaming, and strict voice rest following the examination.
"He had never been so ill in his life. (But) It all turned around, and he was on top of the world," Penny later said, according to the publication.
She is also said to have told her husband of 17 years: "You have to visualise yourself being on stage and manifest this whole experience, because it's going to happen."
The icon took to the stage in the festival's "Legends" slot on Sunday afternoon. His sons, Alastair, 19, and Aiden, 14, daughters, Ruby, 38, and Renee, 33, and their partners joined him at Worthy Farm for the show.
