Downing Street has confirmed that a formal sleaze probe into Rachel Reeves is back on the cards after bombshell new emails came to light from the Chancellor's husband.
Ms Reeves is in the spotlight after it was revealed she had been letting her south London home out without a license since moving into No. 11.
This afternoon Sir Keir's spokesman confirmed that despite dismissing the need for an ethics probe last night, it is now back on the table after being made aware of certain emails penned by Nick Joicey.
The Prime Minister and his independent ethics adviser received "new information" regarding the rental arrangements for the Chancellor's family home this afternoon, the spokesman confirmed.
No 10 added that Sir Keir Starmer has "full confidence" in Rachel Reeves.
A No 10 spokesman said: "Following a review of emails sent and received by the Chancellor's husband, new information has come to light. This information has been passed to the Prime Minister and his independent [ethics] adviser."
