Prince Harry has set the record straight today on whether Prince Archie will go to Eton College. The Duke of Sussex, 41, quit royal life five years ago, moving to America with his wife, Meghan Markle, 44.
Since then, they have lived on a sprawling Montecito estate with their children, Prince Archie, six, and Princess Lilibet, four. While the family show no signs of moving back to the UK anytime soon, with Meghan having not set foot in the countrysince 2022, Harry has expressed a desire for his children to get to know his home country.
This has led to a number of rumours this week, with one source claiming that Harry has registered his son to go to Eton College in the future - a school he himself attended.
Speaking to The Royalist, Harry's friend said: "It's no longer strictly necessary to put your kids' names down at birth, but Harry has put Archie down.
"It's fair to say he had mixed feelings about the school when he left, but looking back on it, he can appreciate the good."
However, a spokesman for Prince Harry has now set the record straight, revealing that this is not the case at all.
The spokesman told the Express: "I can confirm that Prince Harry has not registered Archie for Eton and the Duke has no plans to send his son to Eton."
This may not be a surprise to some, with Harry having expressed mixed emotions about his time at the school, claiming in his memoir Spare that he didn't necessarily fit in.
The untrue rumours about Prince Archie attending Eton in the future come just months after it was claimed Prince George - Prince William's son - will be attending the school from next year.
It is believed Prince William, Harry's estranged brother, wants his eldest son George, 12, to go to the school as he had a good education himself there.
It is also a short drive from the family's Windsor home.
