If you are fond of a BBC drama, then look no further. This gangster series has been hailed as the "absolute best BBC drama" of the moment by Stylist magazine. This City Is Ours is a crime drama television series created by Stephen Butchard for BBC. The series is set in Liverpool and has been renewed for a second series. It stars Sean Bean, James Nelson-Joyce, Hannah Onslow, Jack McMullen, and Bobby Schofield.
The series synopsis reads: "This City is Ours is a British crime drama set in Liverpool about Michael Kavanagh, a loyal enforcer for gang leader Ronnie Phelan, who sees an opportunity to build a different future for himself and his love interest, Diana. However, a missing cocaine shipment and the ambition of Ronnie's son, Jamie, create a destructive battle for control of the criminal empire, threatening Michael's dreams of a legitimate life and forcing him to fight for what he loves."

The City is Ours has been met with rave reviews, and its impressive 91% rating on Rotten Tomatoes reflects that.
Anita Singh in The Daily Telegraph awarded the show five stars and praised the performances, particularly of Nelson-Joyce.
She added: "Of course, this show isn't as good as The Sopranos, so let's dispense with that comparison. But it's cracking. I binged all eight episodes in two days, and I'm not a big fan of dramas about drugs and guns."
Carol Midgley in The Times awarded the show four stars. She praised the "modern, witty and authentic" dialogue, as well as the on-screen chemistry between Nelson-Joyce and Sean Bean.
She added: "Bean, as ever, is a charismatic presence right from the first moment when playing golf badly. But then so is James Nelson-Joyce as Michael, Ronnie's second in command, who can speak volumes with one unnerving, piercing stare."
A fan of the series left a glowing review, stating: "This is true British TV at its best."
Another fan said: "This is probably the best crime series I have ever seen for emotional depth and pure all-around quality. The casting is faultless, the main characters are stupendous, but the minor characters, like the bearded detective, are beautifully realised."
The City is Ours is available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
