17 girl students complained against BabaAfter receiving the complaint, the Vasant Kunj (North) police station registered a case and began investigating the allegations. The ashram operates two batches, each with over 35 female students. Seventeen of these students have stated in their statements to the police that the ashram's director, Chaitanyananda Saraswati , molested them. The police have seized CCTV footage and sent the hard disk recovered from the institution for FSL examination. The statements of the 16 victims have also been recorded in court (Patiala House Court).
Sringeri Ashram clarifies allegationsDakshinamanya Sri Sharada Peetham, Sringeri Ashram, has clarified the allegations. The Ashram issued a statement saying, "Swami Chaitanyananda Saraswati was involved in illegal activities. The Peetham has filed a complaint against him. His conduct and activities have been illegal, inappropriate, and against the interests of the Peetham. For this reason, all relations with him have been severed. A complaint has been filed with the relevant authorities regarding Swami Chaitanyananda Saraswati's illegal activities. "
Additionally, the Sringeri Bench clarified that the Sri Sharada Institute of Indian Management-Research (Vasant Kunj, New Delhi) is recognized by the AICTE and operates under the Bench's jurisdiction. The Bench is governed by a Governing Council constituted by the Bench, headed by renowned educationist Dr. Krishna Venkatesh. The Governing Council has assured that the interests of the students will be fully protected and that their studies and programs will not be disrupted in any way.
