Mo Salah has hinted that he believes Alexander Isak is one of the best players in the Premier League amid links with Liverpool. The Newcastle forward is being targeted by the Reds ahead of next month’s transfer deadline.
The reigning champions have already had a bid in excess of £100m turned down by the Magpies. Isak has submitted a transfer request and continues to train away from his Newcastle teammates having not gone on their pre-season tour.
With just a week to go until the 2025/26 season gets underway, Liverpool starSalah was asked for his verdict on his Fantasy Premier League price. And intriguingly, it appears that he is a big fan of Isak.
The Egyptian forward said: "First of all I want you guys to put my price down so everybody can have me in the team. I said that... before, I'm telling you in a video. Put my price down and that's it.
"Now I am the highest. No! Put the strikers the highest. Haaland should be the highest. Isak should be the highest. So not a winger has to be the highest."

And while Salah appears to be keen on the move, Newcastle are not willing to let Isak leave any time soon. The Magpies have told their star forward he will not be allowed to depart this summer, a decision that has not gone down particularly well.
Offering an update on the striker, Eddie Howe said: "We’ve had discussions and it’s clear at the moment we can’t have him involved with the group. I don’t know how long that will be for. It’s clear I can’t involve him with the team at the moment.
“He is training later than the rest of the squad. There have been discussions since the tour. I don’t think disciplinary action has happened.

"He is here, so of course he has a future at Newcastle. From our perspective, we would love to have him back with the team, but the situation has to be right for that to happen."
Asked if Isak could be playing in his side’s Premier League opener vs Aston Villa, Howe replied: "I want Alex to be playing today. I want him training tomorrow. We would love the player to be with us, let me make that absolutely clear.
"There is no part of me that does not want that outcome. But I don't see the current situation changing before Aston Villa."
