But, it's an important one to attempt, as Preply are trying to raise awareness of sign language and how it can connect people together.

"It's exciting to see the British government taking a significant step forward by introducing British Sign Language (BSL) as a GCSE subject in England from September 2025," they said. "This initiative highlights the importance of sign language and recognises it as a vital form of communication that, like any other language, deserves widespread understanding and respect."
