There are some huge scenes ahead on , as one dark plot "comes to a head" resulting in explosive scenes.
One cast member has revealed things are about to "implode" as more than one character takes centre stage. With secrets coming to light and special flashbacks revealing unknown moments from the past, what follows is devastation.
Ahead of the huge exits of Mick and Lou Michaelis this summer, Lou actress Farrel Hegarty has told The and other press all about exciting scenes on the way that see the couple's storyline escalate. Amid them causing trouble on the cobbles and creating enemies, secrets are about to come to light as Mick and Lou are reunited with someone from their past, fellow resident Kit Green.
It emerges that they all know each other from when they were teenagers, and flashbacks will reveal what went on. The full truth about how they know each other will be confirmed in the scenes, as well as how things back then shaped each character's future.
Farrel spilled: "It's been so much fun to work on. I think you can expect a lot. There's a lot happening. We uncover exactly how Mick, Lou and Kit know each other and there's definitely a few skeletons in the closet, that are going to come out.

"Also the reasons why the characters are the way they are, because I think it's rare that we get to look back and see what makes someone the way they are today and what they've been through and what's happened in the past. All that's going to come out, which is going to be really exciting to watch."
On meeting the actors playing the younger versions of her characters and the others, Farrel revealed she didn't get to see the scenes be filmed. She said of meeting the actress playing younger Lou: "I did, really briefly. It was so odd because at one point it was the three of us and the three of them!
"I mean, I didn't get to see any of it, but I've read the script and I know what happens. I didn't get to see any of it, so I'm going to be watching it at the same time as everybody else, which is really exciting.
"The casting was really good. I took it as a compliment [when they said] 'have you seen the younger you?'" Farrel also teased that there was much more to come from her character and Mick before they depart, and teased devastation ahead.
She explained: "I know it's the beginning! There's a lot more to come from these two, I'm afraid to say. I think there's a lot happening. It's all about to come to a head, it's all about to implode.
"I think Lou, we're going to see a lot of her finding it hard to keep afloat and pick up a lot of pieces and she's torn between head and heart a lot as well." On Lou and Mick's relationship, she added: "She is extremely loyal and probably at times she definitely shouldn't be.
"I think Mick is all she's ever known and she's definitely got that 'stand by your man' attitude where she'll turn a blind eye to a lot of things. She's so besotted and loyal to him that I think she can't see right from wrong a lot. With that relationship, it gets her in hot water as well."
