Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Drugs and marijuana seized in 74 cases including cases of the last 26 years was incinerated at Damoh on Tuesday. The total worth of the destroyed contraband is estimated to be over Rs 150 crore, police officials said.

Nodal officer of the operation, additional DCP Shailendra Singh Chauhan said the drugs and other contraband was destroyed in fire as per rules and regulations at Hiedelburg Cement India Narsinggarh in Damoh on Tuesday under the supervision of senior officials which included DCP Zone-4 Jitendra Singh Pawar, DCP Sanjay Agarwal and junior scientific officer MP Pollution Control Board (MPPCB) Sunita Jhore.
596Kg Marijuana seized in 62 cases, burnt
The contraband destroyed included 596 kilogram of marijuana seized in 62 cases. Charas around 50 kilogram seized in five cases, Brown sugar-0.02429 kilogram seized in four cases, 0.092 kilogram of MD drugs seized in 1 case, avil injections seized in one case, smack and 15,312 sedative syrups. Police Commissioner Harinarayanachari Mishra said the seized drugs, marijuana and other contraband has been destroyed after instructions from the court.
