The time for Chhath Puja is nearing. Preparations have begun. Cow dung cakes (Goetha) are being dried in some places, and wheat is being dried elsewhere. People from other states are also arriving in Bihar to participate in this grand festival of folk faith. This is why trains are so crowded at this time. This festival is celebrated with utmost purity and discipline. It is believed that the fasting of Chhath Vrat is the most difficult.

In such a situation, special attention is paid to the rules. You may have often seen Chhath Puja performed on the banks of a pond or river, where crowds of Chhath worshippers gather. However, have you ever wondered what people can do if they don't have a pond or river nearby? How can those who are ill reach the Chhath Ghat? Or how can those who are older join this crowd?
How to worship the Sun God at home
If you don't know, let us explain how to perform Chhath Puja. According to local priests, you can offer prayers to Lord Surya at home on your terrace or in your courtyard. To offer prayers to the Sun God, build a cement pond and fill it with water. You can then stand in it and offer prayers. Alternatively, you can also build a swimming pool in which you can offer prayers.
Build a water pond in the courtyard.
Similarly, you can observe the Chhath fast and offer prayers in the courtyard. If the courtyard is made of mud, dig it out, fill it with some water, and then go there and offer prayers to Lord Surya. Using these methods, you can worship Lord Surya without going to the Chhath Ghat.

Use of plastic is prohibited.
It is important to remember that plastic materials should not be used in making anything. This could render your worship futile.
When will the Chhath festival begin
This year, the great festival of Chhath will begin with Nahay-Khaye on October 25th. Kharna will be on 26th October, first Arghya on 27th October and Parana on 28th October.
