Taking another step towards sustainable rural development , Patanjali Yogpeeth has announced a comprehensive plan to transform agriculture and boost farmer welfare in the Mauganj district of Madhya Pradesh. The initiative was marked by the formal transfer of land documents to Patanjali from the state government, in the presence of the Deputy Chief Minister and other officials.
Patanjali’s General Secretary, Acharya Balkrishna, visited the local site and discussed upcoming development strategies with the people. According to Acharya Balkrishna, the project is aligned with a long-standing vision to support farmer prosperity and promote sustainable agriculture in the Vindhya region.
The initiative focuses on leaning towards an agriculture-based development model , which includes crop diversification , training centers, seed units, and primary processing units. This is all being done in the hope of giving farmers better resources, technical support, and more income-generating opportunities in the region.
The proposed plan will also introduce educational and healthcare services for local communities, which will also help people who aren’t into agriculture or farming. According to Acharya Balkrishna, the goal is to boost not only agricultural output but also the overall well-being of rural families.
“This is more than a business venture—it’s about social responsibility and national development,” he said during the visit.

Patanjali is already active in promoting crop diversification in the state, which helps improve soil health, reduce input costs, and make agriculture more climate-resilient. This new initiative is expected to deepen those efforts, supporting farmers with the training and resources needed to adopt better farming methods.
This will also help boost farmers’ income in the region, and they will be less dependent on chemical fertilizers, pesticides, and excessive irrigation. The aim is also to move towards more eco-friendly farming.
