Light to moderate showers were reported from several areas, including India Gate, Kartavya Path, and Lajpat Nagar, while neighbouring Noida also experienced rainfall. The city remained under a thick cloud cover, creating pleasant yet humid conditions.
The rainfall is part of a larger system expected to bring more showers to Delhi-NCR throughout the day. The overcast conditions are likely to persist until late evening.
Wet spell to intensify from August 14
Forecast data from AQI.in indicates a significant shift in Delhi’s weather pattern beginning August 14, with an 84% chance of moderate rain on Thursday and approximately 8.32 mm of precipitation expected. The intensity is set to increase on August 15 and 16, with rainfall projections of 15.58 mm and 10.34 mm respectively.
High humidity levels, peaking at 80% on August 17, are expected to accompany these wet conditions, potentially causing discomfort despite cooler temperatures.
The wet weather will continue into August 17 with around 10.25 mm of rain. A gradual decline in rainfall is forecast for August 18 and 19, though scattered showers are still possible. Daytime temperatures are likely to range between 26°C and 36.2°C, with nighttime lows around 26°C.
August 19 may offer the most favourable conditions for outdoor activities in the coming week, as rainfall is expected to ease and temperatures will trend higher. However, the midweek period could see waterlogging in low-lying areas due to heavy spells, impacting traffic movement.
