The 36th match of the IPL between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) is currently underway at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. LSG skipper Rishabh Pant won the toss and elected to bat first, with his side posting a commanding total of 180 runs in their allotted 20 overs.
As an Impact Player, 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi made his debut for RR, stepping in for Sandeep Sharma and the regular skipper Sanju Samson, who was also ruled out due to an injury sustained in the previous match against Delhi Capitals (DC). Vaibhav opened the innings alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal.
He faced Shardul Thakur on his very first ball in the IPL. The young prodigy made an unforgettable entrance. Thakur delivered a good-length ball outside off stump, and Vaibhav, staying leg-side of the ball, carved a stunning drive high over the cover for a six. The shot left everyone in awe: the crowd, his batting partner, the bowler, and even the opposition skipper. At just 14 years old, Vaibhav Suryavanshi became the youngest player in IPL history to make such an impactful debut.
