Agartala (Tripura) [India],May 25 (ANI): In a bid to promote a healthier lifestyle and encourage fitness among citizens, the Governor of Tripura, Indra Sena Reddy Nallu, took part in the "Sundays on Cycle" event at the historic Ujjayanta Palace in Agartala on Sunday.
The event aimed to raise awareness about the health benefits of regular cycling and to inspire people across age groups to adopt more active lifestyles.
Addressing the gathering, Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu underscored the importance of cycling as a form of physical activity.
"Cycling strengthens muscles, boosts physical endurance, and enhances mental well-being," he said.
Governor Nallu also lauded the initiative and encouraged citizens of all age groups to incorporate cycling into their daily lives for better health.
He further added, "The Governor of Tripura has encouraged the people of Tripura to adopt the habit of cycling at least one day a week, to gradually develop a routine that can yield unbelievable health benefits in our lives."
The event saw enthusiastic participation from locals, cycling enthusiasts, and fitness advocates, reinforcing the growing movement toward a more active and health-conscious society.
Meanwhile, on Saturday, Chief Minister Manik Saha said that the present state government has prepared a Strategic Road Map to build an Unnato and Shreshtho (Developed and Great), future-ready Tripura.
Saha said this while addressing the 10th NITI Aayog Governing Council Meeting in New Delhi, in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Health Minister JP Nadda, and other distinguished Union Ministers, Governors, Chief Ministers and Lt Governors of Union Territories, Vice Chairman and the Members of NITI Aayog.
CM Saha also congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the armed forces for the "successful execution of Operation Sindoor." (ANI)
