"Recall Jungle Raj from 20 years ago, then make any announcement": Harsh Malhotra slams Tejashwi Yadav

Patna (Bihar) [India], October 10 (ANI): Union Minister Harsh Malhotra on Friday criticised Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav's promise of providing government jobs to every household in Bihar if voted to power, urging the opposition to first recall the state's "Jungle Raj from 20 years earlier."
Speaking to reporters, Malhotra stated that the opposition should apologise to the people of Bihar and then make any necessary announcements.
"They should recall their jungle raj from 20 years earlier. Answer for that first, apologise to Bihar for it, then make any announcement," said Malhotra.
Meanwhile, Tejashwi Yadav announced the creation of a law that would ensure government jobs for every household if his party is voted to power in Bihar, stating that he will provide government jobs within 20 days of forming the Mahagathbandhan government.

"We have made a historic announcement today. We strive for economic justice, in addition to social justice, for the people. Today, we have announced that any family in Bihar without a government job will be offered a government job within 20 days of our government's formation. In 20 months, there will be no family that will not have a govt job...When every family in Bihar has a govt job, everyone will run the Bihar Govt besides Tejashwi...Tejashwi ki umr kacchi hai, par zubaan pakki hai. So, we do not need to give proof. People of Bihar know that Tejashwi will do what he says," Yadav told ANI.
Following the announcement, many political leaders severely criticised the RJD leader. Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), Bihar President Raju Tiwari slammed the RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav's promise, questioning how many jobs were created during the party's 15 years in power. He further asked the intent behind the promise and accused the RJD leader of exploiting unemployment issues for political gain.
Speaking to ANI, LJP leader Raju Tiwari said, "The greed for power should not be this bad... What employment did they provide in 15 years?... How will they provide employment to every household? What is the standard for that? Will they make a rule? Is no qualification required for that?... This is impossible...The public has rejected them...They will be finished in the 2025 elections..."
Additionally, Bharatiya Janata Party leader Sanjay Mayuk also slammed Yadav, saying that elections cannot be won on false promises.
"Was he asleep? Mother, father, himself, and his sister have all wielded power. Why didn't you remember it then? Now you remember this. When they themselves are unemployed, the people of Bihar have shown them the door from power. His father used to lie, and he is doing it too. Elections can't be won on false promises. The people of Bihar are watching everything. The people of Bihar will give a befitting reply to the lies he constantly tells for power," the BJP leader stated.
However, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Mrityunjay Tiwari praised Tejashwi Yadav's election promise to provide government jobs to every household, stating that no party had previously discussed job creation as extensively as Tejashwi Yadav had in 2020.
RJD leader Mrityunjay Tiwari said, "Tejashwi Yadav has made a historic announcement. In 2020, we had promised to provide 10 lakh jobs; before that, no one even talked about jobs or employment. Tejashwi Yadav set the agenda for the entire country, and discussions about jobs and employment subsequently began in every state across the country."
Earlier, the Election Commission announced the schedule for the Bihar Assembly elections. The 243 Assembly seats will go to the polls in two phases on November 6 and November 11, with the counting of votes scheduled to take place on November 14.
This upcoming electoral contest will be between the NDA, led by the BJP, and Janata Dal (United) (JD(U)), and the INDIA bloc, led by Tejashwi Yadav of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD). The INDIA bloc also includes the Congress party, the Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) (CPI-ML) led by Deepankar Bhattacharya, the Communist Party of India (CPI), the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPM), and Mukesh Sahani's Vikasheel Insaan Party (VIP). Additionally, Prashant Kishor's Jan Suraaj has also staked claims on all 243 seats of the state. (ANI)
