Bihar Jobs 2025: Bihar State Health Committee has issued a notification for recruitment to 220 posts of Ophthalmic Assistant, for which applications will be accepted from 14 to 28 August 2025.

The official notification for recruitment to a total of 220 posts of Ophthalmic Assistant has been issued by the committee. Reservations has been fixed for different categories in this recruitment. 87 posts have been reserved for General Category, 22 posts for EWS, 35 posts for Scheduled Caste, 3 posts for Scheduled Tribe, 40 posts for Extremely Backward Classes, 26 posts for Backward Classes and 7 posts for Women Backward Classes. The application process for these posts will start from 14 August 2025. Interested and eligible candidates will be able to apply online till 6 pm on 28 August 2025. Essential Qualification
For the post of Ophthalmic Assistant, the candidate must have the required educational qualification. The applicant must have passed 12th class with Biology and Mathematics subjects from a recognized board of India. Apart from this, it is mandatory to have a two-year diploma in Optometry. Also, it will be necessary to fulfill other eligibility.
Age Limit
Talking about the age limit, the minimum age of the candidate applying should be 21 years. The maximum age for male candidates of General category is 37 years, maximum age for female candidates of OBC, General and EWS category is 40 years, while the maximum age limit for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe has been fixed at 42 years.
What is the application fee?
The application fee is Rs 500 for general, OBC and EWS candidates. For permanent residents of Bihar state who are from Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe, this fee has been fixed at Rs 125. Similarly, the fee has been kept at Rs 125 for reserved and unreserved category women candidates and disabled candidates. The application fee has to be paid online.
This is how the selection will be done
In the selection process, candidates will have to appear for a written examination. There will be a total of 100 multiple choice questions in this exam, for which 100 marks are fixed. The questions will be related to general awareness, reasoning, numerical ability and technical ability. There will be no negative marking for giving wrong answers in the exam, so that the candidates will be able to solve all the questions without fear.
